2008 Academic Year Round-Up: SPRINGBOARD TO LIFE (STL)
Now that the dust has settled and vacation time is over, it's time again to tally up the SPRINGBOARD TO LIFE (STL) stats and look at progress made. Since crunching numbers is always a time- consuming and sacrificial effort for our highly idealistic team (smile), it took a little while to get this into print. It’s heartwarming, though, to see that Chance 4 Children's (C4C) SPRINGBOARD TO LIFE PROGRAM (STL), after being up and running for three years now, is accomplishing what it was designed to do -- give children a chance to succeed in life! Please allow us to whisk you through the different stats, events and highlights of the year so far… (Scroll down to the bottom of the article to see the pictures)
Springboard to Life (STL) Program Overview:
Designed as an initiative to help orphans and socially disadvantaged children acquire the necessary tools to successfully integrate into society, the STL program offers extracurricular educational and vocational courses and socialization/integration programs to children about to exit their institutions and step out into life. Given the fact that most of them grew up without the love, care and tutelage of their natural parents, these children are truly human “endangered species” and consequently, without outside help and care, many of them do not succeed in life.
From foreign language courses, household science classes to offering internships and apprenticeship courses, the STL program’s sole aim is to help socially handicapped kids make the right choices and have a real chance to succeed in life.
Total Participants:
With the help of our distinguished Patrons and Partners, so far more than 1050 children were able to participate in either the educational or the socialization/integration aspect of the program. Asserting that every child has the right to an education, STL is well on track to become Chance 4 Children’s most far-reaching and important initiative to date. And it doesn't stop here!
