C4C and Rotary Club Bohemia - three years of fruitful cooperation!
It has been 3 whole years now that Chance 4 Children (C4C) has enjoyed the patronage of the Rotary Club Bohemia in Prague. Cooperating on a wide spectrum of projects, from facilitating international aid shipments to supporting C4C’s Springboard to Life program, the club has been an excellent and reliable partner through the years.
On occasion of celebrating three years of working together with Chance 4 Children on the behalf of needy and disadvantaged children in the Czech Republic, the members of the club contributed the following statement:

It was in Autumn 2003 when the idea to create an international German speaking Rotary Club, based on the Czech-German tradition of the Prague cultural sphere, was conceived. The friendship of several Czech and expatriate foreign Rotarians served as the catalyst for this undertaking. It didn’t take long for a group of diplomats, intellectuals, businessman and managers fond of the fundamental Rotarian principles, to find common ground. The summer of 2004 marked the inception of the Rotary Club Prague Bohemia. The club presently sports 34 members and has lively and active attendance. By now, also a partnership with the Munich Rotary Club exists.
Since its inception the club has actively promoted friendship and understanding between peoples and professionals, with a special focus on the countries of origin of the club members, namely the Czech Republic, Germany, Austria and Switzerland. It is the club’s express aim to actively support charitable, cultural, social and educational projects, especially those with a German-Czech background.
On the lookout for a charitable project worthy of support, C4C quickly became the focus of attention, based on several credible recommendations. The decision to adopt C4C was not a difficult one for the club members and since 2004 the Rotary Club Prague Bohemia supports C4C with financial and material donations. The latest cooperation focuses on educating resident children of various Czech orphanages. The club members and the members of their partner club in Munich, in cooperation with Rotary International, set aside for this purpose a robust and significant financial contribution. With these funds teachers were employed to teach the children essential life skills and vocational classes. Comments Markus Roevekamp, Club President in 2006/2007: “We are very happy to be able to make an active contribution toward preparing these children for the future and for life. More projects supporting C4C programs by our Rotary Club Prague Bohemia are already in the works.“
